UTS - Urban Tactical Shooting system. “Shooter with the Orange Stock” by Dr. Oleg Maltsev
The long-awaited second book in the series, "Shooter with the orange stock" introducing Urban Tactical Shooting has been completed. Publication of the book is anticipated in April, 2024. Urban Tactical Shooting (UTS) stands as a highly technological shooting discipline grounded in a scientific approach that synthesizes decades of urban combat experience worldwide. This book serves as a continuation of a textbook focusing on military-applied type of training.
The experiments and research forming the backbone of this work were conducted by Dr. Oleg Maltsev in collaboration with esteemed entities such as the Research Institute "Memory Institute " and "Research institute for the study of human behavior in extreme situations," and the “In den Himmel Aufgestiegen” (Shot in the Sky) journal. Within the structure of this research institute and magazine, the academy and laboratory dedicated to sport shooting research operate continuously. Experts engaged in this work foster ongoing interaction with top coaches and accomplished shooters from diverse shooting disciplines, including world and Olympic champions in skeet, trap, sporting, and other specialties.
What is the UTS?
The Urban Tactical Shooting (UTS) system has arisen due to significant global changes. Daily news from across the globe underscores the stark reality: feeling safe in your own city is no longer a guarantee, leaving you with no choice but to rely on yourself for protection. This implies the necessity for a discipline that closely mirrors real-life scenarios. Presently, such a discipline is non-existent in global practice. Existing shooting disciplines typically involve standardized activities, disregarding the unique and unpredictable nature of life, including factors like the automatic system of human body, counting-solving machine, and decision-making apparatus.
Life is unpredictable and people cannot be ready for emergency situations if they do exactly the same thing every single day.
Research across various disciplines has highlighted the need for a new shooting discipline grounded in military-applied methods. The creation of UTS emerged as the solution to fulfill this need.
Lawful use of firearms.
The UTS discipline originated from the imperative for civilians to survive amidst warfare, urban combat, and extreme circumstances. The system comprehensively addresses all lawful applications of firearms. UTS stands as the ideal solution for the contemporary world, empowering civilians to utilize firearms judiciously in prolonged extreme conditions.
One of the defining features that sets UTS apart is its integration of legal aspects into the training regimen, aspects that many other shooting systems overlook. It meticulously covers every tactical scenario, delineating when the use of a weapon is permissible and when it is unequivocally prohibited. UTS equips shooters with invaluable insights on lawful conduct, ensuring adherence to legal norms in every scenario.
The UTS training program is meticulously designed to ensure that everyone, through an active lifestyle and sports participation, evolves into both a responsible citizen and a skilled shooter. Through this approach, UTS fosters a shooting culture within the communities where it operates, providing a system that effectively prepares individuals for any hybrid conflict and contributes to the defense of the state, city, territory, and their families.
In the book "Shooter with the Orange Stock," Dr. Maltsev provides insight into the nature of the new shooting discipline preceding the UTS monograph that is planned for 2025. In this book you will find the results of research on various configurations of guns, chokes, and ammunition tested at various ranges. This book aims to educate readers on the prudent use of weapons and provides a comprehensive set of UTS exercises designed to hone essential skills. These exercises, which include "self-diagnostics" to pinpoint weaknesses and areas for improvement, are intended to empower individuals with practical strategies for mastery.
