International Interdisciplinary Conference “Cultural Code”

The EUASU organizing committee cordially invites scholars and practitioners to an international and interdisciplinary four-day Conference held on 8–11 December. The event will focus on cultural codes, their influence, and their interconnectedness across social, communicative, and political domains. 
The conference aims to provide a shared space for dialogue and exchange among researchers working within diverse academic traditions.


Across its four-day program, the conference will bring together professors and researchers from France, Italy, the USA, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, as well as a range of other countries. Participants will exchange ideas, present current findings, and reflect on key cultural and social dynamics shaping contemporary societies.

Program of the Conference

Day 1 (8 December): Cultural Codes as Phenomena

1) What is a cultural code? What is its definition and how does it take shape?
2) The cultural code as a prism of perception: the pros and cons.

Day 2 (9 December): Cultural Code and Ethnic Turbulence

1) Ethnic turbulence: contemporary challenges.
2) Cultural code as a lever for implementing change: what can we actually do?

Day 3 (10 December): Communication as the 'Shadow' of Cultural Code

1) The influence of cultural codes on media and communication systems is explored through the lens of Baudrillard's legacy.
2) The role of media and social networks in the "construction" of cultural codes: what should we prepare for?

Day 4 (11 December): 2026 and What Comes Next?

1) Culturology and temporal sociology: the challenges of the coming years.
2) The Ukrainian scenario, the breach of the code, and the subsequent events. What lessons should be drawn?

The event will also offer space to summarize the developments of 2025 as a pivotal moment in the first quarter of the 21st century, identifying major shifts, tensions, and insights of the period. In addition, the conference will highlight themes that deserve further exploration in the coming years, fostering a broad and forward-looking interdisciplinary discussion.
